I have an old 55 265 with '57 powerpack heads on it. It needs head work, and I would suggest a rebuild. It is complete except for carb. Got the ram-horn manifolds, generator/alternator, goose-neck mounted oil filter, etc.
I also have

From My Page – Guide to Ultimate Recycling
A recent recall of Honda mowers because of the safety lever not working had reminded me of some projects that can be found on the internet for making a lawn mower motor into a generator by using the easy to maintain 5 hp motor and a high output alternator, a battery or two and an inverter.
If you are handy with taking on projects like this, an old computer UPS battery can be hacked into taking the place of an expensive inverter.
If you are a good hack you could also completely power the single piston engine with an HHO system (yeah the ‘run your car on water’ one) so you weren’t using gasoline for your generator.
But first off: Anytime you take apart a mower, a UPS system, use 12 volt car batteries for inverted power; you run the risk of being hurt. And the HHO systems are designed to distill water into it’s basic atoms which are not just flammable, they are explosive.
I will be expanding all of this information very soon to a page of it’s own so keep an eye out!
