Remove Blemish Scars

Acne is a skin condition that affects many individuals throughout their lifetimes. Breakouts and acne scars can make an individual feel self conscious and even embarrassed about her appearance. While active acne can be treated using a variety of different products, red marks and acne scars are usually left behind. While it takes time, effort and money to remove the scars left from blemishes, it is possible to acquire the clear skin you desire. Make an appointment with a dermatologist, a doctor who specializes in skin conditions and skin care. When you go to your appointment, do not wear any makeup. You want the doctor to see your skin in its true state without any cover-ups or concealer. Tell your doctor what your concerns are and what you’d like to achieve.

Develop a plan of action. Once you have expressed your concerns to your doctor, ask him how you can achieve the results you desire. Your doctor will likely recommend specific prescription skin care products that can work to help achieve the results you are looking for. Ask your doctor about the pros and cons of each of these products. Find out if there are any side effects. Once you and your doctor decide on a product, use it regularly and evaluate your progress within 6 to 8 weeks.

Get regular skin treatments. Microdermabrasion and skin peels are two professional skin treatments that reduce the redness and visibility of blemish scars. You can get these done at a dermatologist’s office, a plastic surgeon’s office or select spas. Set aside at least 6 hours of time on the day you get the treatment done. The treatment itself will not take that long. However, you want to leave yourself plenty of time to recuperate. Your skin will need to breathe for several hours after the treatment is complete. For the best results, get a skin care treatment every 4 to 6 weeks.

Exfoliate your skin at home on a regular basis. Do a gentle scrub during the week. If you have sensitive skin, only use the scrub once a week. If you don’t have sensitive skin, you can use a scrub every few days. Keeping your skin exfoliated will allow deeper penetration of skincare products and moisturizers.
