Hayden jumped in surprise and stared at Apollo with wide eyes. Apollo was here… in room… again… and no one probably bribed him! Doing his best to maintain composure, the younger man smiled and gestured to his packet. “It’s a script for my school’s end of the year performance. I’m still deciding if I should try out or not.” Apollo glanced down at the script curiously. So the kid was into drama, huh? It was probably less dangerous then going out for a sport in any case. Speaking of dangerous, there was a rather large pile of papers stacked on top of books, which Apollo suspected were unfinished homework assignments, something that made the young defense attorney twitch a bit. From a young age, Apollo had always been one of those children that not only did their homework, but did it without being asked and made it his first priority. Parents had always said how they wished their child would do what he did. “Really, you mean it?! Then, I’ve gotta start practicing! The auditions are in three days! I’ll see you then alright?” Hayden quickly said as he all but shoved Apollo out of his bedroom and shut the door, leaving a very confused defense attorney standing out in the hall next to an equally confused magician. However, the magician took the confusion in stride and grabbed Apollo by his shirt sleeve and dragged him away. Sitting up, Miles ran a hand through his hair as he waited for his heart rate to slow down, even just a little. He couldn’t believe it. Even after eighteen years, that day still haunted his dreams. It never failed. Every year they would come. The first couple times had been the worst, since his mind decided to entertain the lovely what-if-Phoenix-had-really-died which left the man in a cold sweat and tears streaming down his face. He had tried to explain it to Phoenix a few times and to his credit, his lover had tried to understand. But it was just like if Phoenix had tried to get Miles to understand how it felt for him to give birth...
