I own a 2000 Toyota Avalon and need instructions on how to install the alternator and valve cover gaskets.?

I have the replacement alternator part, but having difficulty aligning the tension adjuster. The screw is located underneath the alternator. What are some suggestions to make this install ? I also am replacing my valve cover gaskets. There appears to

Go to your local parts store and pick up a service manual (Chilton or Hayden). For under $20.00, it will save you a lot of aggravation and mistakes.

It will also be useful down the road for future repair projects.
