What are Mazda MX-6 OEM brake pads made from? How does it compare to Acura TSX pads? Got 80k miles from Mazda.

This is more curiosity than actual problem. The Mazda OEM pads were quiet and lasted forever (got 72k from the first set and seriously about 100k with the second set). It was a manual transmission and I am very efficient with brake use. I was just wondering
i've seen my share of hondas and acuras that didn't have the first brake job done until after 100k miles. it depends how the car is driven mostly. the best thing you can do is buy oe pads because they are designed for your car.

I'm gonna try to be as clear as possible in my description of the problem.
I bought an ST1300 new in the spring of 2008.
Sometimes during 2008, I noticed, once in a while, with no set pattern, that as I was backing the bike into the shed and going over the raised door sill, I would hear a strange noise coming from the bike, more or less centered under me or near the gas tank. This could be after a short ride or a long one. The best way to describe the noise is as if some air was escaping under pressure from a container or air being sucked in under vacuum. The noise was clearly audible but would only last two to three seconds. It also did it in 2009. I never noticed anything out on the road, only as I was either backing the bike in the shed or getting ready to do so. The engine was always off and the trasmission in neutral.
I could not recreate the noise at will ... so, I did not bring the bike to the dealer. It only happened once in a while ... and I never noticed any problem with the bike's performance, so I let it go at that, even though it bugged me.
That is, till this spring.
I went to the dealer to put in a new set of tires. Leaving the dealership, in 1st gear, I stopped at the roadside to let traffic go by before getting on the road. I heard that noise again, only louder, and for a longer time. I put the bike in neutral, moved it back and forth, applying and releasing the brakes, nothing.
I got on the road and drove some 75 kms home ... no problem whatsoever. Slowing down to 1st gear as I went over the pathway leading to the rear of my yard, I heard it again for a second or two. Stopping on the pad, again, I hear that noise. I tried to recreate the noise, nothing.
The next day, I go out to fill er up ... as I slowly move around the gas tanks, there is that noise again ... for a good 30 feet. Then no more. After that, I hear it again in all sorts of situation, but always at very low speeds, in...
