During my non-official hiatus while I was working on getting Japanese Culture Club off the ground and doing homework and being busy like the responsible girl I am (i.e. sitting around watching dramas and/or sleeping), I had this weird bout where no matter what was recommended to me, I would listen to it at least once. Somehow I found some new bands that I actually like as well as caught up to some bands I already liked. and their song, "Sometimes-A.D.-" played at the end. The A.D. version is in English, and it's pretty good, but I actually like the B.C. version (in Japanese) better because that's what version is in the PV. The fact that I have an epic love for Okada Masaki has nothing...little...okay, quite a bit to do with why I like the song so much. He's IN THE PV ITSELF. There's definitely some steel guitars going on there, especially in their song, "She is coming home" from their Sometimes One random day while I was looking up info about flumpool, I came across an awesome J-indie blog/review website called SparkPlugged that reviews all kinds of Japanese indie and alternative music. They do everything from techno to indie to jrock to xylophone music...actually, I don't know if they are any Japanese xylophone bands. If there are, please let me know! I'd be all over that. Anyway, thanks to having SparkPlugged on my Google Reader (otherwise, I'd never check anything. Google Reader is a godsend ) SparkPlugged recommended the J-indie band bloodthirsty butchers . More proof that Hokkaido is just plain awesome, the bloodythirsty butchers are a punk-flavored indie band who hail from Sapporo. I managed to snag their new album NO ALBUM YAY FOR NEW UVERworld single! ...
