Intensive Survival Skills!!!-(Long)

Alright, the more I’ve been investigating emergency preparedness, the more I’ve learned that to be prepared for a disaster is my responsibility and as in the event of a disaster, like the saying I’ve seen on several websites, “Stock or Starve”. There are three different types of preparedness: Emergency, Short Term and Long Term. An Emergency Preparedness is up to 2 wks, can you survive if the power goes out? In this scenario, theres a local emergency in which the power will be restored eventually. To this I can say yes. I purchased a few items and I have the skill set and food to get us by for 2 wks only. Short Term preparedness-do you have enough to feed-(including toiletries) your entire family for up to 6 months if there is a national disaster and you need to stay indoors for up to 6 months. To this, I would say no, I am not prepared at all. The last, is the Long Term-are you prepared to feed and take care of your family in case you had to stay indoors for up to 1 yr-to this I have to say absolutely not.

I was chatting with my friend last night on Facebook about a video I’d seen and information I had gathered and she immediately shut down and said she didn’t want to talk about it. She said she didn’t want to think about it. She had start gathering water for an emergency so I sent her a list of supplies she could slowly get, the same as me, so I thought she might be interested in what I was saying but it scared her and she stopped wanting to hear it. I know its very scary but it may in fact be necessary.
